| Moon's Fright Night |
![]() |
| Walked upon a moonlit glen, careful steps slight the wind breathe held to not disturb unearthly, mixed with whispered words Shadows cast in ghastly light glimpsed enough to fright stayed my feet from fleeting rapid now my heart was beating. Force a step and then another Closer now the heart would flutter See I must what lay beyond Those disfigured shadows on the lawn Shock at first for there I saw A tree, defying every law Dead and hollow there it stood Like reed with breath it could Moaned and whispered in the night Setting such and eerie sight A fluttering burst from its floor My heart stopped to beat no more Eyes strained to know this fright Not enough the bright Moon light Dark it was like death's own door <sigh> That blasted bird cried 'nevermore'. A Mummy with a lobster claw Would have rather sat and chawed Bindings caught in wind by chance Much like the famous ribbon dance Frankenstein with all his might Danced the tango that night Zombies stumbled to and fro A country dance of heel and toe Wolf man was there in the back Looked like he was doing jumping jacks Laughing out loud at the sight Howling in ghoulish delight A skeleton in pirates gear His jaw askew in a deadly sneer Perched on his shoulder all adored <sigh> That blasted bird cried 'nevermore' |
