Last but not least the front ledge needs to be formed.  We will go back to the Translation Manipulator and select approx. 8 faces deep at the left falls side of the canyon floor, and increase the dept as we go to the open side of floor. Again you don't have to be exact.

 

Set soft selection Radius to 5.00, then pull up on the Y (green) arrow till it is even with the front border, or till it reaches 10 in the Y (green) Object Properties box.

 

This is what it should look like so far. You'll notice clearly. We have the back two ledges, sloping upward as it rounds the corner of the canyon and into the Water Fall area. In the foreground, the smaller and lower ledge where the view was taken from.

So ends section 1-3 of this tutorial. There will be more to come.

I ran a small test of the mesh in Carrara to see just how well it would do. The results were pretty good, I must say.

Realistic sky, a good color mix and terrain bump in the bump channel. Here is the results.
