| Edge Fill In |

| In some cases you may need to fill in an edge where you have points in place already. This is only one method of doing so.
In the case of the image above. We have a hole cut into a cylinder and need to add in edges to form it out. So we start with only two of the points which will have a connecting edge applied to them. =============== |
![]() |
| 1. Click on "Select by Edge"
2. Click on one edge of the area you are working on. 3. Click the Fast Extrude icon (found in the Vertex Modeling tab)
=================================== |

| 1. Click back, and hold down the mouse button on the edge you wanted to work on then drag the mouse out. This will pull a new edge filled poly out into the open area.
==================================== |

| Now we will work the points back to the
area. 1. Click on *Select by Point* This will change the the view so that you are seeing little blue points at the intersections of each edge. 2. Click on the outer point you wish to move back. 3. Press the *W* key on the keyboard. This activates a very special type of Weld. (not found in icons) 4. Click on the Point you wish to join it back with.
Always remember with this type of Welding, the first selected Point will do the moving, the second will not. This can be very important if you wish to keep a point where it was, or move it to a new location set by another point.

| As you can see, the outer point is now gone and one end of your edge is now resting on the main form.

| Now again we will be on
"Select by Point" 1. Click on the remaining outer point. 2. Press the *W* key on the keyboard 3. Click on the lower point ============================
|

| You can see now, you have a
nice edge line clean from one point to another.
Hope this helps --Aine |
