A Child's Fear

Bats in the window, shadowed on the glass.
Quiet you must be or wake them from their fast.
Spider in the sink, fills it side to side.
Lurking there and waiting, for someone to come nearby.

Snakes in the walls, slithering about.
Be very careful or, ... They just might jump right out.
Alligators in the toilet, Teeth set to sink.
If you dare to sit a while... What do you think?

Long multi arms, from the bath, roll right out.
Reach so long, and pretty strong, they'll grab you without a doubt.
Something big and hairy, reaches out of a door.
I'm not sure I want to find, Just what it is looking for.

Every nook and cranny, has its beast that lives inside.
Check it out, there is no doubt. They don't just run and hide.
Mom doesn't believe me, and angry when I cry.
A bathroom is a scary place for a child under five.
